Originally this cabin had a “cozy” galley kitchen. The small space did not meet the needs of the growing family and their guests. The need for more prep, cooking, and storage space was evident. Without adding on to the cabin, we set out to repurpose the existing space; maximizing flow and functionality.
To create a larger kitchen, we overtook the neighboring den; adding large windows and a fireplace to create a seamless transition between the now connected spaces. The additional countertop space can now accommodate several users with ease, and seating at the island makes it very entertainment friendly. The painted cabinets and warm wood floors give the kitchen a welcoming feel that only a Minnesota cabin can provide.
